Huawei, formerly the top smartphone manufacturer in the world, is now a player in the electric vehicle market. According to reports, Huawei and the significant Chinese state-owned automaker BAIC would collaborate to build electric vehicles under the BAIC brand. The infotainment and driver assistance systems in Huawei-powered electric vehicles will be viewed as utilizing Huawei technology.
According to a report from IT Home, Huawei, and Huawei Company are preparing to launch a new electric car brand, with Huawei being in charge of market distribution. At Huawei’s previous product showrooms, the new EV brand vehicles will only be sold and distributed. The automobiles will be made by BAIC, the sixth-largest manufacturer in China, while Huawei will offer technical assistance for the platform it has developed called Huawei DriveONE.
This technology is also used in Wenje and Jihu cars. It will employ a platform called Jihu as the vehicle platform. It may also make use of the Huawei Inside platform, which is already employed by several car manufacturers in the Chinese auto industry. Phone running HarmonyOS from Huawei Huawei Inside, which enables connections between smart homes and cars, is supported.
Huawei will support the technical aspects of smart electric vehicles rather than producing its automobiles. Huawei’s most recent technology is also being used in the market for smart electric vehicles. This year saw the release of the 349,900 yuan (about $48,900) Avatr 11 electric vehicle, which makes use of Huawei technology.
