A portable gaming PC from Asus was unveiled.

On April 1st, Asus unveiled the ROG Ally, a portable PC gaming device. It was unveiled on a day in April, thus it is not an April Fool’s joke. The ROG Ally is believed to perform and display better than Valve’s Steam Deck, which is well-known for handheld PC gaming devices. The same PC games that are posted to Steam can be played on both Steam Deck and ROG Ally, as well as games from other platforms.

As seen in the image, the ROG Ally’s display is a 7-inch 16:9 screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a brightness range of up to 500 nits, and a frequency range of 120 Hz. The Steam Deck has a 7-inch 16:10 screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800, a maximum brightness of 400 nits, and a 60 Hz operating frequency.

The Steam Deck weighs 669g and measures 298mm x 117mm x 50.5mm, while the ROG Ally is 280mm x 113mm x 39mm in size. As a result, ROG Ally has the same resolution and can be played on a 7-inch screen as the Steam Deck.

Steam Deck offers a benefit in terms of size and weight in addition to performance. When can I purchase ROG Ally? We will have to wait to see the ROG Ally because Asus hasn’t yet disclosed the price.
