A 108MP camera sensor was unveiled by Samsung

Smartphones with 108MP cameras will soon be available. Samsung has just unveiled the first 108MP ISOCELL sensor for the smartphone industry. Just last week, Xiaomi revealed that its next phone will sport a 108MP camera system. The Pocophone F1’s 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor, which Samsung just unveiled, is touted to incorporate cutting-edge DSLR camera sensor technology and was created in partnership with Xiaomi.

“In order to create the ISOCELL Bright HMX, Xiaomi, and Samsung collaborated closely from the design to production stages, creating a ground-breaking 108MP image sensor technology. We are thrilled to have access to the superior image quality seen only in a few high-end DSLR cameras on smartphones “said Lin Bin, Xiaomi’s co-founder and president.

The ISOCELL Bright HMX has more than 100 million pixels and can record 6K video at 30 frames per second (6016 x 3384 pixels per frame) and 108MP high-resolution pictures. The business stated that the sensor will absorb more light in dim and hazy conditions since it is 1/1.33 inch in size, which is 125% larger than the 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM1. Tetra cell technology, which combines pixels, is reported to be able to take photographs with a resolution of 27 MP and will enable extremely low-light photography.

A feature of this new image sensor called Smart ISO modifies ISO settings according to the quantity and quality of the light. As of the end of August, according to a statement from Samsung, production of the 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX will begin. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will therefore likely use this sensor.
